An account of the unjust death of an Iranian woman after a dubious allegation of infidelity, Jim Caviezel plays Paris-based journalist Freidoune Sahebjam, who brought the story to the world's attention in his book of the same name.
Acclaimed actress Shohreh Aghdashloo (House Of Sand and Fog) is Zahra, a local woman who battles to prove Soraya's innocence. Mozhan Marnò plays the accused, a victim of an abusive marriage and trumped up charges of adultery.
Betsy Giffen Nowrasteh takes the hard facts of the tragic tale, which took place in 1986 and carves a lyrical, fable-like passion play.
