Resident Evil: Retribution
Fifth entry into the undead-blasting series has a trailer.
The trailer for the fifth Resident Evil movie - Resident Evil: Retribution - is online, and without wanting to give away spoilers, there looks set to be zombies involved.
On the same day that the trailer for game number 6 debuted, we are in kind of a Resi mood right now. As usual, this has bugger all to do with the seminal survival horror games, save from having the character names transplanted into a wham-bam actioner. These films are generally good fun, as long as audiences don't head in expecting Hamlet.
Set in a dystopian, undead-ravaged future, Alice (Milla Jovovich) is back to shoot and explode her way through the hordes of creatures which populate her world. There are also returns to the series for Michelle Rodriguez and Sienna Guillroy, so it will be interesting to see how any kind of continuity is achieved here, and how this film fits into the overall story.
Aside from all the action, we have to say that the telecoms advertising-mock opening to the trailer had us chuckling, and Resident Evil: Retribution is sure to have fans of the series excited ahead of its September 14th release date.
