The incredible true story of the women at the Dagenham Ford plant has been immortalised in a new film featuring an incredible British cast.

In 1968, the sewing machinists downed tools when they were reclassified as "unskilled" workers. A group of audacious women started the campaign which led to the Equal Pay Act, struggling with their bosses, local community, and eventually, the government. Happy-Go-Lucky star Sally Hawkins is the catalyst for these extraordinary events, and she's supported by the likes of Bob Hoskins, Miranda Richardson, Rosamund Pike, Geraldine James, Jaime Winstone and Rupert Graves.

It looks like Calendar Girls director Nigel Cole has struck gold again with another heartwarming real-life tale of adversity. We have to wait until 1st October to see Made In Dagenham, which had the previous working title of We Want Sex (the trailer explains why).
