Festival favourite looks like a lot of fun as aliens invade a drunken Irish village.
Going down an absolute treat at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, and set for a FrightFest spot this year, Grabbers looks like a lot of fun.
Set in an Irish fishing village, aliens are attacking the locals. The heroes soon discover that alcohol is poisonous to the invaders, and set about getting hammered to fend off the creatures. Anybody who may have seen the ScreenGeek podcast team post-recording will know that we'd be absolutely fine, and this does seem like a ludicrously enjoyable concept for a film.
Grabbers is out in Ireland on the 10th August, with no release date for here just yet aside from that FrightFest appearance.
An idyllic remote Irish fishing village is invaded by enormous tentacled creatures from the sea who are picking off the villagers one at a time. The inhabitants learn that the one thing the creatures don't like is alcohol, it makes people taste horrible, so they realize that in order to stay alive, they're going to have to get as drunk as possible.
