Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
Vamp flick looks just bonkers enough to be spectacular.
Seth Grahame-Smith's genre-mashing inventions have thrown up a lot of Hollywood interest in recent years, with the latest work to hit the big screen coming in the form of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.
Positing a frankly awesome alternative history, in which the 16th president of the United States was a kick-ass vampire slayer by night, we finally get to enjoy that elusive combination of top hats and axe fighting we've longed for all these years. Starring Benjamin Walker, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Dominic Cooper and Rufus Sewell, this does look a lot of fun.
Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov helms the film, and as you would expect there are plenty of highly stylised action sequences here, with a hefty dose of our old friend, slow motion. The film looks like good fun, and the trailer promises a lot of exciting set-pieces. We'll find out for sure when the film is released on the 2nd of August.
