Wolverine Casting Round-Up
Six names added to James Mangold's new Wolverine film.
With James Mangold’s The Wolverine taking the clawed hero back to his Japanese story arc the latest casting news to come from the production include not one, not two, but six names added to the film.
Joining Hugh Jackman will be Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Will Yun Lee, Brian Tee, Hiroyuki Sanada and Rila Fukushima. Lee is perhaps the best-known of the six right now, after a turn in Elektra and a role in the Sky remake of Hawaii 5-0 in recent years. He will play The Silver Samurai, one of the main villains, reports Variety.
This news, and also Tee’s addition as corrupt official Noburu Mori, come courtesy of THR, with the other roles being filled thanks to Coming Soon’s news sources.
According to them, newcomer Okamoto will be playing Mariko – Logan’s love interest and a very important character, with Sanada as crime boss Shingen, and Fukushima as an assassin. The role of Yashida will be filled by Yamanouchi.
Forgive us this huge barrage of unfamiliar names, but as we hear more and more about The Wolverine, we are beginning to get more enthusiastic about this one.
