Twilight’s Edi Gathegi For X-Men: First Class
From Laurent to Darwin in Matthew Vaughn's prequel.
Twilight vampire Edi Gathegi has been cast in X-Men: First Class.
The actor, who previously starred in House before being cast as Laurent in Twilight and New Moon, will play Darwin, a little-known mutant in the X-Men canon. He'll possibly have the power to mutate to adapt to any dangerous situation, i.e. becoming fireproof.
Kick-Ass director Matthew Vaughn is working on the prequel script with his regular collaborator Jane Goldman, and is looking to shoot next month. Gathegi joins a cast that includes James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender as a young Xavier and Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, and Kevin Bacon as a bad guy. So I wonder why Edi was acting so grumpy at last weekend's London Film and Comic Con?
