The Bay Trailer Online
Found-footage doesn't look to break new ground, but seems fun enough.
A silly but fun-looking found footage horror movie, The Bay is coming to US cinemas on the 2nd November. Directed by Oscar winning Barry Levinson, the film looks like it could be a jumpy ride.
Taking a sort of ecological/ biological disaster angle, the film tells the story of a fishing community plagued by waterborne parasites that infect first the fish population, then the human inhabitants of the town. Looking a little Cloverfield-esque, we see the efforts of the CDC as they seek to contain what becomes a zombie-like effect.
The trailer doesn’t look like giving us anything particularly new, but does have a couple of cool images, such as the swooping helicopter shot over a sea of dead fish. We do tend to worry, however, at the front-and-centre nature of Oren Peli’s involvement, because as much as we love Paranormal Activity, the last thing to come from him was The Chernobyl Diaries, which was a true stinker.
We don’t have word on a UK release date, but will keep an eye out for it. There's no embed available just now, so check out the trailer over on Apple.
