Steve McQueen, Michael Fassbender Reunite For Shame

Michael Fassbender is to reunite with his Hunger director Steve McQueen for a new drama.

The pair broke out into the big time with the 2008 film, which was based on IRA inmate Bobby Sands' 1981 hunger strike. Now, with Fassbender in huge demand as an actor, he's making time in January to film Shame.

McQueen worked on the script with Brick Lane writer Abi Morgan, with Fassbender playing a New Yorker who can't control his sexual urges.

Before then, he'll finish up on X-Men: First Class, and be seen in cinemas in A Dangerous Method, Haywire and Jane Eyre. McQueen's planned biopic of Afrobeat star Fela Kuti (possibly starring Chiwetel Ejiofor) has been put on the back burner.
