Star Hints At Monsters 2
Scoot McNairy has hinted at a possible sequel
Last years ace indie breakout Monsters was one of our films of the year, and the star Scoot McNairy has hinted at a possible sequel in conversation with the good folks at Bloody Disgusting.
We are not involved in it [as actors]," he said. "[But] I'm producing the film [with Gareth]...We've just been kind of...hashing out the treatment for the new one. It's gonna be the same style, [but a] new storyline, new characters. And it's in development right now at Vertigo Films....We can't say anything about it...[but it takes place] the same world. I think it takes place about seven years after our storyline."
With director/produce/effects man/cameraman/ everything Gareth Edwards now helming a new Godzilla project (please please please look to Destroy all Monsters! for inspiration.....) his stock is rising mereorically, and a sequel is an exciting prospect. Here's hoping the inevitably bigger budget doesn't take away from the indie sensibility of the original, but for now all is looking good in the land of all things Monsters.
