Sigourney Weaver Joins Amy Heckerling’s Vamps
Sigourney Weaver is the latest cast member anounced for Vamps.
Sigourney Weaver is the latest cast member announced for Vamps.
Director Amy Heckerling is to reunite with her Clueless star Alicia Silverstone for the project, which sees Silverstone and Krysten Ritter as New York party girls who happen to be vampires. The pair are forced to choose between immortality and the men they have fallen in love with.
This would sound like a horrendous cash-in on both Sex and the City and the Twilight craze if it wasn’t for the anticipation of seeing what Heckerling can do with Silverstone’s floundering film career – although she has recently found success on Broadway in Time Stands Still. Hopes are also raised by the addition of Weaver as Ciccerus, just confirmed as the vampire queen who turns the two women.
It’s the first project for Heckerling since 2007’s straight-to-DVD I Could Never Be Your Woman, which starred Michelle Pfeiffer and Paul Rudd. Shooting for Vamps is to start next month.
