Samuel L Jackson Joins Robocop Remake
Impressive line-up continues to grow as reboot begins to take shape.
The Robocop reboot may have sounded like a terrible idea at first, and certainly got us all groaning, but the addition of Brazilian director Jose Padhila was an intriguing one, and despite talk of Russell Crowe and Michael Fassbender catching our attention, the eventual appointment of Joel Kinnaman is fine enough.
With Gary Oldman since joining the project as the scientist who creates Robocop, another huge cast member has been added in the shape of Samuel L Jackson. Set to play Novak, a media mogul, Jackson is always charismatic, and can liven up even the dodgiest of movies, so we couldn’t be happier to see him involved. He is set to join production when he has wrapped on Django Unchained, Quentin Tarantino’s new western (The teaser trailer for which was released today).
Robocop is set to start shooting this summer, with an expected release date of August 2013.
