Russell Crowe To Join Dark Tower?
Gladiator star linked to Stephen King adaptation for Warners.
With Stephen King’s opus, The Dark Tower, long being groomed by Ron Howard for a big-screen adaptation, some news has broken this morning that suggests things may get moving soon.
Javier Bardem has long been attached to the role of Gunslinger Roland Deschain, but Deadline are reporting that the new man in the frame is Gladiator star Russell Crowe. The story claims that Warners are planning on making their decision on whether to go ahead with the project in the next two weeks, and having a star as recognised as Crowe is not likely to hurt the chances of this actually happening.
This is likely to be a huge, sprawling adaptation, given that the series has run to eight books so far, and there has often been talk about incorporating a TV series as part of the epic story. There are likely to be significant developments in this story over the next few weeks, and we will certainly keep you posted.
