Prometheus Plot Details Leak?

Just days after some cautious publicity from Ridley Scott and pals got us hungry for more Prometheus, potential plot details have surfaced over at (Obvious potential SPOILER ALERT) io9.

It should be pointed out that Fox have reacted quickly to deny the source is accurate and have released the following spoiler-free official synopsis;

"Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life’s ultimate mystery."

Without giving away spoilers, the folks over at io9 don't seem too optimistic about it, and we tend to agree - it sounds a little too far departed from the Alien universe to us, although slightly dodgy chronology may point to a lack of authenticity - the year mentioned in the leak is 2058, which is a little close to the accepted timeline of the existing films.

In other news for the sci-fi epic, Ben Foster is rumoured to be joining the production, as reported by Empire. Recently seen in The Mechanic, Foster is expected to join the impressive-looking cast list already inhabited by Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba and Michael Fassbender.
