New Details Of Guardians Of The Galaxy Revealed

More news on Marvel’s upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy this morning, with Heat Vision reporting that a new writer has been called in for script duties, as well as revealing which characters we can expect to see in the film.

The initial draft of the script had been completed by Marvel alumnus Nicole Perlman, but Chris McCoy, a screenwriter with three of his projects (Get Back in 2007, Good Looking in 2009, and Good Kids in 2011) placed on the fabled Black List, has been called in for a rewrite. His version is reportedly strong on “quirky comic beats”, which sounds like the way to tackle the characters, as outlined in the article;

Drax The Destroyer, a human resurrected as a green warrior with the sole purpose of killing Thanos (the villain in the Avengers final scene tease); Groot, a giant tree-man; Star-Lord, a gun-toting half-human/half-alien inter-galactic vigilante; Rocket Raccoon, a genetically engineered animal with a knack for guns and explosives; and Gamora, the last survivor of her species who was saved by Thanos to be his assassin but now battles him.

It’s a tricky proposition for sure, but we’re keen to see if Marvel can bring Rocket Racoon and friends to the big screen successfully, and will find out when the film is hopefully released on the 1st August, 2014.
