Natalie Portman Offered Gravity
Alfonso Cuaron wants the Black Swan star to take Angelina Jolie's role.
Risky Business are reporting that Natalie Portman has been offered the starring role in Gravity.
After the news that Angelina Jolie had twice turned down the role, Warner Bros were keen to get a big name in for the film, which requires its lead to hold the screen for almost its entirety.
Writer and director Alfonso Cuaron has now offered the part to Portman, currently earning raves reviews and Oscar buzz for Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan. If Portman accepts, Robert Downey Jr will be her co-star, playing a pair of astronauts. We'll follow the woman as she struggles to get home when her space station is wiped out by debris.
Filming should begin in January.
