Michael Biehn To Star In Hidden In the Woods Remake

Regular visitors to the site will know that we are fairly obsessed with Michael Biehn over here, and tend to jump on any shred of news about the cult icon’s planned projects. Bloody Disgusting have reported that the Aliens star is set to produce and star in a remake of Chiliean horror Hidden in the Woods.

The original film is yet to even premiere, set to make its bow at the Fantasia International Film Festival next week, but a US remake is already in the works, with Biehn and wife Jennifer Blanc-Biehn producing. Director of the original, Patricio Valladares, will be behind the camera. The film is set to shoot at the end of 2012 on location in Chile.

Biehn’s directorial debut, The Victim, is set to play FrightFest at the end of the month, which we are truly excited about.

“This raw slice of demented energy, inspired by true events, is the terrifying story of two sisters raised in forest isolation and subjected to torments from their abusive drug dealer father. When they finally report him, he chainsaws the two investigating cops to death and is jailed before he can tell psychotic drug lord Costello the exact location of his remaining stash. So Costello sends violent henchmen to find the missing merchandise hidden somewhere in the woods. Reaching heights of deranged frenzy unlike anything seen before, director Patricio Valladares is yet another exciting talent to emerge from the current hotbed of South American horror.”
