Lost Director For New Jack Ryan?
Jack Bender in the running to direct Chris Pine in the latest film.
The new Jack Ryan film may be directed by Lost's Jack Bender.
The TV director worked on the majority of the show's episodes, being responsible for all the key moments, as well as being entrusted with the finale. Before he moved to the island, his resume only included the likes of Child Play 3, but he found his calling on television, working on Alias, The Sopranos and Carnivale.
Deadline report that Bender is the favourite to direct Star Trek's Chris Pine as Jack Ryan in the new action movie - the latest in the Jack Ryan series, but not one adapted from one of Tom clancy's novels.
The character of intelligence agent Ryan has previously been played by Alec Baldwin (The Hunt for Red October), Harrison Ford (Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger) and Ben Affleck (The Sum of All Fears).
With the working title of Moscow, the new movie will feature Pine as a young Ryan, long before the events in the above films take place.
