Lily Collins Drops Out Of Evil Dead

Earlier this month, we got ourselves all upset over the prospect of Fede Alvarez's planned remake of Sam Raimi The Evil Dead. Whilst we are inclined to give the film a chance due to the involvement of Raimi himself, the production has suffered a blow as star Lily Collins has been forced to pull out due to scheduling conflicts.

It must have been a real Sophie's Choice moment as the young actress was forced to choose between promotional work for Mirror, Mirror and prepping for The Evil Dead, but add in the planned adaptation of The Mortal Instruments to which she has become attached and her slate suddenly looks very busy indeed.

This news leaves the lead role of Mia, a recovering addict touted as the "female Ash", open to other leading ladies, and we're not quite sure who we'd like to see take this - any thoughts?

Do the personnel attached to this remake leave you with reasonable hopes? Or is this entire project doomed to failure? We'd love to hear what other Deadite fans have to say on this matter, since this is one reboot that just won't stay dead.
