Kathryn Bigelow Eyeing Will Smith and Christian Bale For Triple Frontier
Sean Penn and Javier Bardem have also met with the Oscar winner for her drug trafficking ensemble drama.
According to a leaked email, Oscar-winning Kathryn Bigelow has been meeting with some high profile actors for her new project.
The Hurt Locker director has teamed up with writer Mark Boal once more for Triple Frontier, a drama about drug trafficking on the Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay borders. Now, The Wrap have their mitts on a supposed email referencing Paramount which gives the status of a number of projects.
The most exciting bit shows that Bigelow has met none other than Will Smith, Christian Bale, Sean Penn and Javier Bardem to star in the ensemble cast. Boal's draft is "great", and they're looking to get into production December or January.
Other bits and bobs revealed are that the new Jack Ryan, starring Chris Pine, needs a rewrite (looking for new writer) before being greenlit and Paramount are "VERY happy" with the draft for GI Joe 2, meaning Stephen Sommers "may direct after all". Loads more snippets over at The Wrap.
Bear in mind Paramount issued this statement to The Wrap: "This is not a Paramount document. It has some correct information and some inaccurrate information."
