Josh Trank Planning Shadow Of The Colossus
Chronicle director set to adapt cult PS2 game.
Cult PS2 title Shadow of the Colossus could have a film version on the way, with none other than Chronicle director Josh Trank behind the camera.
Having nailed Chronicle, Trank is now very much a man in demand, handling duties on both the Fantastic Four reboot and Venom these days, and is said to have approached Sony with the idea, being a big fan of the game. The hunt is now on for a writer to adapt the epic adventure for the screen.
The game follows a young boy who believes his lover to be dead. Encountering a demon who claims to be able to return her to life, he agrees to seek out and destroy the 16 colossi that inhabit the world. It is renowned for its scale and design work, as well as the haunting, melancholy tone that comes with being tasked with the destruction of the rare creatures.
