Gravity In Doubt Because Of Angelina Jolie

Hollywood's prehistoric attitude lingers on, with the depressing story circulating today that because Angelina Jolie has turned down Gravity, the intriguing sci-fi project is in jeopardy.

Children Of Men director Alfonso Cuaron already has Robert Downey Jr on board in a supporting role, but the story requires a female lead. Apparently, report Deadline, the only woman acting today that can carry an $80 million movie is Jolie, and now Warner Bros. are spooked. They're obviously going for someone whose name can be bigger than the film title on the poster, e.g. Will Smith. Never mind an actress who can serve the story well...

The story takes place on a remote space station, and when Downey and his colleague are travelling in space, the rest of the team are wiped out by an exploding satellite. The rest of the film is the woman's attempt to get home to her child.
