Gemma Arterton For Alien Prequel?
The actress lets slip she's set to meet Ridley Scott.
Gemma Arterton has revealed she is set to meet Ridley Scott, possibly for a role in the Alien prequel.
The star was speaking to The Sunday Times about her new comedy Tamara Drewe, when she started talking about her future projects.
Confirmed is The Keys To The Street, a Ruth Rendell novel adapted by Christopher Nolan, with the final script rewritten by Michael Stokes. She'll play a bone marrow donor who gets involved with the man whose life she saved, but he may not be what he appears to be. A director has yet to come on board for the project, which has surprisingly been on the back burner for years.
She's also attached to the Richard E. Grant-directed In With The Outlaws, a British cowboy film, and confirmed for Clash Of The Titans 2, but the big news came with her casually dropping the bombshell that she could be the next Alien heroine.
Revealing that she is to meet Alien director Ridley Scott, she said: "Ridley Scott saw The Disappearance of Alice Creed and loved it. He wants me to meet for Aliens: The Remake, or something." OR SOMETHING. That, Gemma, would be the prequel to the greatest science fiction film of all time. I think Arterton is a fresh and exciting new talent, but I really can't see her as a brave and compelling action hero.
Meanwhile, Scott has been busy dropping tidbits about his prequel to The Independent: "It's the dark side of the moon. We are talking about gods and engineers. Engineers of space. And were the aliens designed as a form of biological warfare? Or biology that would go in and clean up a planet?"
