First Official Cowboys & Aliens Photo
Jon Favreau and Harrison Ford turn up at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend.
The first proper photo from Cowboys & Aliens has been released, following Jon Favreau's Comic-Con panel.
The Iron Man director was on hand to show two scenes from his sci-fi western, based on Scott Mitchell Rosenberg's comic book.
He's assembled an extraordinary cast, including Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Paul Dano, Sam Rockwell and Clancy Brown, and has none other than Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard and Brian Grazer as producers. If this ends up a turkey, we may as well give up on life.
The lucky sods at San Diego Comic-Con got to witness Favreau and Ford introduce two scenes from the film, which is in the middle of shooting. Favreau expressed his wish to create a "by-the-book western" in the style of John Ford and Sergio Leone, but using the chilling sci-fi found in Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Alien.
Alas, we'll have to take his word for it, until we get some official footage. Here's a nice photo of Daniel Craig in costume as an alien-fighting gunslinger instead!
