Fifth Resident Evil Movie Planned
A huge opening weekend for Resident Evil: Afterlife means Paul W.S. Anderson and Milla Jovovich are already planning next sequel.
Despite a critical mauling, cinemagoers decided they desperately wanted this fourth Resident Evil film, and gave the franchise its biggest opening yet.
This weekend Resident Evil: Afterlife opened to a box office haul of $73 million worldwide, and now its star has revealed she and her director husband Paul W.S. Anderson are ready to work on a fifth movie.
Speaking to Vulture, Milla Jovovich told how this film was the first to open number one worldwide, and added "we’re definitely going to make another one".
She revealed that Anderson, who has worked on the franchise since its 2002 beginning, already has ideas. But not that many, because she pointed out "we’ve been talking to a lot of fans on Twitter and stuff, so it’s probably going to be one of the first movies where we really talk to fans to see what they want, and what characters they want to see. It's going to be a more interactive process."
