Ed Norton Releases Hulk Statement

Edward Norton has released a statement following the announcement that he will not be appearing in The Avengers as Hulk.

Over the weekend, Marvel Studios expressed a wish to cast an unknown alongside the likes of Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Samuel L. Jackson, not for financial reasons, you see, but for "the need for an actor who embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members."

This was news to Norton, who took over the role of Bruce Banner from Eric Bana in Louis Letterier's 2008 film The Incredible Hulk. His rep issued an angry statement contradicting Marvel's Kevin Feige, which you can read here.

Now Norton has broken the silence on his official Facebook page, uploading his own statement as a photo, uploaded below.

Feige and Marvel are expected to unveil the new actor alongside the rest of The Avengers at San Diego Comic-Con later this month.
