Doug Liman Takes On All You Need Is Kill
The Bourne Identity director to adapt Hiroshi Sakurazaka's sci-fi novel.
Bourne Identity and Jumper director Doug Liman has signed up for an adaptation of All You Need Is Kill.
Hiroshi Sakurazaka's 2004 sci-fi novel focuses on a soldier who dies in battle against aliens, and finds himself locked in a time loop. He repeats his fate, each time building up the skills to avoid death. Yep, a similar concept to Duncan Jones' just completed follow-up to Moon, Source Code, where Jake Gyllenhaal implants his mind into a commuter to relive a terrorist attack time and time again until the perpetrator is figured out. At least Jones has the upper hand with the release date, as there's no word on when Liman will start work on All You Need Is Kill.
Liman's Fair Game is due for release later this year, starring Naomi Watts and Sean Penn.
