Die Hard 4.0 Director For Total Recall Remake
Len Wiseman in negotiations to redo the 1990 Paul Verhoeven favourite.
Die Hard 4.0 director Len Wiseman is in negotiations to remake Total Recall.
Even though Paul Verhoeven's 1990 sci-fi film is dated, it gave us another iconic Arnold Schwarzenegger performance. He played a construction worker who undergoes a false memory implant, in this case a virtual trip to Mars. He becomes convinced he's a secret agent in this adaptation of Philip K Dick's story We Can Remember It For You Wholesale, and heads to Mars itself.
Heat Vision are reporting that Wiseman is in talks with Columbia to direct a script from Equilibrium writer/director Kurt Wimmer. Even though Wiseman's Die Hard installment was appalling, an update of Total Recall isn't such a horrifying prospect. They'll never be able to recreate the campy ludicrousness of it, so maybe a slick thiller could sit nicely alongside.
