Deus Ex Human Revolution Coming To Cinemas
Sci-fi epic to come to cinema screens courtesy of CBS.
With the news this week that Michael Fassbender is set to star in and produce a film adaptation of the popular Assassins Creed game series, gamers have a second intriguing film adaptation to look forward to, with CBS picking up the rights to Square Enix’s action RPG Deus Ex Human Revolution.
Althought the rights cover the whole series, the deal is thought to be with an eye on Human Revolution, the eagerly anticipated third entry in the popular Deus Ex series, and one of the finest games to come out last year. Set in world not too unlike our own – the back of the case describes it as “not the end of the world, but you can see it from here” – the player controls Adam Jensen, head of security for the megabucks Sarif corporation. Trading in augmentation technology such as artificial limbs and suchlike, Sarif sees Jensen is thrust into a world of conspiracy, espionage and murder. Taking on lofty themes such as the concept of singularity, and boasting a production design that will be a dream come true for the creative team that land this project, Human Revolution was one of the finest pieces of science fiction in any medium last year.
Given the size of this project, it is difficult to imagine the studio don’t have any thoughts as to personnel, so expect news to break quickly on this one.
Who do you think should direct the film of Human Revolution? Who could play Adam Jensen? Let us know below.
