Cillian Murphy has joined the cast of British thriller The Retreat, report Deadline.
The actor, currently gracing the screen in the masterful Inception, has been cast as Thandie Newton's husband. It is assumed he has replaced the originally announced Jason Isaacs, but there's no word yet if David Tennant is still on board as the mysterious soldier who washes up on the shore of the couple's remote island. Producer Gary Sinyor has pitched The Retreat as a landlocked "Knife In the Water meets Dead Calm". Carl Tibbetts takes on his debut as writer/director for Magnet Films, with Sony having acquired UK rights.
