Director Christopher Nolan and actor Michael Sheen are to be honoured at this year's BAFTA/LA awards.
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles will hold their Britannia awards for the second year this November.
Nolan is currently enjoying deserved phenomenal success as writer and director of Inception, following his high-grossing and critically-acclaimed The Dark Knight. He will be presented with the John Schlesinger Britannia Award for artistic excellence in directing.
Versatile character actor Michael Sheen will be the recipient of the Britannia Award for British Artist of the Year.
“We could not be more delighted about our first honorees of this year’s Britannia Awards, representing two outstanding British talents” says BAFTA/LA Chairman Nigel Lythgoe. “Chris Nolan is a visionary filmmaker who continually raises the bar with each movie he makes, and Michael Sheen is an actor of immense depth who seamlessly tackles drama and comedic roles alike.”
Stephen Fry will host these awards in Los Angeles on 4th November, with the Orange British Academy Film Awards taking place in London on 13th February 2011.
