The thought of a Planet Of The Apes sequel has been made bearable with the awesome cast director Rupert Wyatt is assembling.

His Escapist star Brian Cox is the latest thespian to join Rise Of The Apes, according to The Wrap. He's in talks to play a cruel and greedy owner of a primate sanctuary, and the boss of James Franco's scientist.

Motion-capture legend Andy Serkis gets on his hands and knees once more to play Caesar, a genetically-altered chimp who starts the uprising.

John Lithgow is Franco's Alzheimer's-afflicted father, and Freida Pinto a primatologist. Fox are looking at a June 2011 release date for the film, which shoots this month in Canada.
