Alex Proyas To Tackle Paradise Lost
The director of Knowing and I, Robot gets to work on Milton's epic.
Alex Proyas has been confirmed to direct an adaptation of John Milton's Paradise Lost.
He'll be working from Stuart Hazeldine's script (the pair worked together on Knowing), following various rewrites.
Variety report that they'll only be working on one aspect of the epic 17th poem, and that'll be the "epic war in heaven between archangels Michael and Lucifer". Great! Oh, hang on, here it comes... "and will be crafted as an action vehicle that will include aerial warfare, possibly shot in 3D."
I, Robot and The Crow were winners, and the man has an obvious love of fantasy, so this should be right up his alley. No word yet on how this will fit around his planned Dracula: Year Zero, which was meant to shoot summer 2011 with Sam Worthington.
