Inception World Premiere Report

Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page and all the stars hit London for Christopher Nolan's film event of the year.

Inception World Premiere Report

The traditional premiere rain didn't even dare to turn out in Leicester Square last night, as glorious sunshine bathed the stars of Inception.

Lucky London got the world premiere of Christopher Nolan's soon-to-be masterpiece, and all the stars were in attendance for one of the most fun events I've seen in a while.

Probably buoyed by the fact they've been involved with a universally acclaimed film that is receiving glowing reviews like nothing seen before, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, Cillian Murphy, Marion Cotillard, Ken Watanabe, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Caine and Tom Hardy were all in fantastic spirits as they trod the mind-bending carpet outside the Odeon Leicester Square.

Other guests included Ridley Scott and Mark Strong, who arrived together in a blaze of cool, but the chinese whispers that circulate came to nothing, as the rumoured Expendables cast were nowhere to be seen.

Leonardo continued to be one of the most gracious A-listers around, arriving early to get stuck in with the sweaty masses, signing with genuine glee for almost every fan he could, which included the weeping teenagers he still attracts (he's one for the more discerning fangirl). Ellen and Cillian were equally as fun-loving, nothing like their shy/stand-offish demeanour suggests. After spluttering some praise to the wonderful Page, she expressed her regret that ScreenGeek's second favourite film of the year, Whip It, didn't get more support, and that they (director Drew Barrymore) weren't able to come over and plug it.

Inception is released on 16th July, and the mind-bending sci-fi thriller is unmissable. Get a taste of the exciting atmosphere with some fantastic footage and chats with the cast and Nolan below, and go here for some stunning candid shots.
