Good news for those excited about Robin Hood - there's a new release date of Wednesday 12th May, two days earlier than originally planned.

That's when the latest historical epic from the dream team of Ridley Scott and his favourite leading man Russell Crowe hits cinemas, and it looks to emulate the fantastically gritty battles in the opening of Gladiator.

Cate Blanchett is a feisty Maid Marion in this reworking of the legend, which Scott has been careful to set in a historical context. There's support from Oscar Isaac's Prince John and Mark Strong's awesome-looking Sir Godfrey.
